I was born in Sherman, Texas in 1964 and grew up in Durant, Oklahoma.  I attended school in Durant and graduated High School in 1982.  I attended college at Oklahoma State University from 1982 to 1986 graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration.

I began my banking career at Stillwater National Bank & Trust during college.  After graduation, I moved to Houston, Texas where I was employed by Allied Bank as a loan officer trainee.  In 1987 I moved to Oklahoma City and was employed as a loan officer and branch manager by First Enterprise Bank.

In 1990, I entered law school in Oklahoma City University's night program.  I graduated with honors in December 1993.  I passed the bar in early 1994 and was sworn in April 22, 1994.

I worked for a medium-size law firm, Naifeh & Woska, PC, in Oklahoma City as a clerk and intern for 1 year before returning to the bank.

In 1994, I was made a part owner and vice president of Overland Corporation, an Ardmore-area highway construction company.  During my 6-year tenure at Overland, I not only learned much about construction but also about all facets of employment law.

In 2000, I decided to return to banking, this time as a trust officer for the local First Bank & Trust Company branch.  I obtained my state insurance license as well as my series 6 & 63 broker's license in the first year at First Bank.  I assisted customers with their investment needs as well as their estate planning.  I also began representing the bank in various legal matters in small claims and district court and worked as a liason with outside counsel on more complex issues.

In 2005, I was recruited by local community leaders to become the first executive director of the newly created Mercy Memorial Health Center Foundation.  Over the following 18 months, I created and admistrated the foundation and assisted in the raising of over $20 million for a new patient tower project.  I was able to utilize my legal background by also assisting the hospital in risk management issues.  And, in late 2006 I decided to practice law full time.

It is with this varied legal, management, and business background that I begin my full-time practice.  I consider my writing skills, my time management skills, my organizational skills, and my follow up skills to be excellent.  I also pride myself in being a person who does what I say I'll do.  You can count on these skills and traits as I represent or assist you with your legal needs.
